MORE PHOTOS FROM LAKE KISSIMMEE STATE PARK, MAY 17 & 18, 2015

Every time that I left the campsite without my camera I would see something interesting!  Once it was a black snake that I was not able to find again when I returned with the camera...guess I did not search REALLY much for him!  Next time it was an Armadillo...and, of course, he was also gone by the time I got my camera!  Luckily Denny took his camera out every time he left the campsite...so here are a few more of his shots!

A WASP "Up CLOSE and PERSONAL"...

The little birds were plentiful but did not want to sit still for their picture to be taken but the LIMPKIN as well as the PILEATED WOODPECKER didn't mind getting in the pictures!

? We could not identify this one...but it was enjoying a bath!

The "Hooty OWL" finally came out and made an appearance!

Now we are looking forward to our next outing which will not be able to happen until around the first week of June!

Another Coach House Motorhome outing back to Lake Kissimmee State Park, May 17 & 18, 2015

Here's the scoop...we were going to try a different State Park for our second outing...but, it is VERY HOT here in Florida and we decided that a shady park was quite important.  Another real important factor is to be able to see wildlife and Lake Kissimmee State Park offers us both!  We tried to get the same campsite as we had 10 days before but could not get that particular site nor the other one that we had stayed at 5 or 6 years ago...so we took the one in the middle of those two sites and it served the purpose very nicely.  We could sit right at the picnic table and look out over the wet marshy area!  Denny parked the motorhome crosswise so that Kiotie could look out the window and see us when we were out at the picnic table!  Kiotie adjusted very quickly to the motorhome and was running from the front to the back looking out the windows and jumping from one bed to the other without any fear this time!

This trip was equally as enjoyable as the previous trip had been.  We had deer walk through our campsite and pay little attention to us!  There were, again, MANY squirrels scampering through the trees and Armadillo poking around in the leaves searching for grubs and insects.

This time Denny took his scooter with him and that made it much easier for him to get around and tour the campground loops as well as riding out to the observation tower!  Once in awhile we could even feel a breeze when we were riding around on the scooter!

There was a beautiful observation tower where I climbed up to the second story and looked out over the surrounding area to Lake Kissimmee!

We saw several Armadillo but this one did not sit up pretty and pose for Denny like a previous picture we took!  They paid us little attention and just went about their business!

There is more to tell and pictures to show about this trip...but I will have to say "to be continued" at this point!  Check back soon!  Thanks for looking!

!st outting...Lake Kissimmee State Park, May 7 & 8, 2015

We arrived around 2 pm on May 7 at Lake Kissimmee State Park...only about 40 miles east from our home...we were able to check right in and set up was easy with our cozy little Coach House van motorhome.  All we had to do was hook up the electric and water and unhook our chairs from the back ladder rack and start to enjoy our site...and it was a beauty!

Kiotie was a good little traveler and camper.  We did not know how he would react as he barks quite a bit here at the apartment complex...I guess he thinks he has to be the "guard dog" for our whole area!  While in the campsite he did not bark at anything!  He and I went on frequent walks and he behaved himself...walked nicely on the leash and did not bark at people or other animals!  Here we are relaxing outside as well as inside the camper!

Denny spent a good share of the time sitting down near the swampy little pond with camera in hand! Several years ago we camped here at Lake Kissimmee State Park and this time we were only two campsites away from where we camped at that time...the wildlife comes to this little swampy pond frequently. This time we saw deer, owl, Ibis, and, of course, lots of gray squirrels!

Ibis

Tufted Titmouse

Oh yes...we thought it comforting to know that the "Dragonfly or Damselfly" population will be continuing!!!

Needless to say...we love the wildlife and to be able to sit in our campsite and watch each of these little creatures go about their daily routine is really special!!! I loved catching a couple shots of this Pileated Woodpecker who was diligently working in a tree not far from where I was sitting!

This beautiful Red Cardinal loved our camper mirrors and kept flying to the mirrors and trying to "kiss" the beautiful bird he was seeing!  He would do that time after time first on one side of the camper and then to the other...then jump up on top and sing us a beautiful song!

Note my reflection in the mirror!

...then after singing his song..he would hop down on the ground and peck around a little...then hop onto a branch near our picnic table and sing us some more beautiful songs...he was such a delight to watch!  This routine started out early each morning and continued off and on until night fall...it was priceless!

What a wonderful two days we spent enjoying "nature" as well as our camper!  Now we are planning our next visit to another Florida State Park...stay tuned!

Our New Adventure Begins with our 1991 Coach House Motorhome!

The "Cockpit"...former owners took very good care of the inside as well as the fact that Coach House builds a very quality motorhome!  This is a 1991 and the upholstery shows absolutely no wear!

From the Back between the twin beds looking forward
A few weeks ago we were fortunate enough to find a used 1991 Dodge Coach House Class B Motorhome!  We had about given up the idea that we could still enjoy camping and it really kept eating away at us as we did enjoy it so much!  Our finances are very limited now that we are solely depending upon only our monthly Social Security and Dennis' COPD seemed to be making us "housebound" and that is not a good feeling!

Our first outing will be a two-night stay at Lake Kissimmee State Park!  Stay tuned as we visit the beautiful State Parks around Florida!
